In an industry filled with abundant diversity, we endeavor to build bridges with people, not walls over differences. When designing brands, our goal is to support parents at every point on the spectrum and offer a variety of customizable options to fit their unique needs.
When we created bumGenius, we wanted to create a diaper easy enough for anyone to use… even family members (like dads or grandparents) who might be resistant to the idea of cloth diapering. bumGenius was intentionally designed to make cloth diapering as easy as using a disposable!
Based on retailer reports, our bumGenius One-Size Cloth Diaper has become the best selling cloth diaper in North America since the first version was launched in 2005. We’ve created brand loyalty by offering our customers amazing customer service and our one-year bumGenius warranty.
In June 2010, we released the bumGenius 4.0 One-Size Cloth Diaper. This update to our best selling product introduced oft-requested features including optional snap closures, larger sizing and replaceable elastic. Today, bumGenius now offers a variety of options; stay dry lining, organic cotton, single-piece diapering and our recently released, exclusive Artist Series.
When we designed the Flip Diapering System, we wanted to give parents a less expensive, hybrid diapering system that provided both reusable and disposable diapering options. We desired to properly address the diversity of each family’s needs. Some families really want stay-dry fabric, others strongly prefer organics and most (not all) need a dispo option for baby at some point in their diapering years. The Flip Diapering System is manufactured from the same high quality materials used in all our products but comes at a much lower price point than other hybrid products on the market.
Econobum, our entry-level system, was created to take care of families on any budget. Buying bumGenius or Flip would be nice, but it isn’t feasible because, frankly, they need to be able to feed their family. I remember all too well the days of having to choose between diapers and groceries. It’s a burdensome place to be. Now there is a quality one-size option for every family. The Econobum system offers easy to wash prefold inserts, a simple one-size diaper cover, and now includes a washable diaper tote.
I’m sure you are wondering, “So… What’s next?” We believe that your baby’s little bum deserves to be covered with something special. We are excited to premiere our new bumGenius Artist Series. The bumGenius Artist Series debut features artist Chelsea Perry and her exclusive “Tiny Socialite Collection”. Chelsea’s designs are fun, modern, unique and whimsical. Guided by our customers’ influence and interests, future collections in the bumGenius Artist Series will feature a variety of art from different designers.
Our goal as a company has always been to make it easy for more families to use cloth diapers. With bumGenius, Flip and Econobum, we’ve increased accessibility to cloth diapers by recognizing families at different places in life. Some families can cloth diaper 100% of the time, some prefer organic materials, some can afford designer cloth diapers, but…. not everyone.
We believe that every parent and baby is unique. These distinctions demand a variety of options. We believe that you (and all your lovely differences) deserve to be treated with respect. Therefore, our products assume nothing about you…
In the process of creating options for a variety of families, we’ve expanded the cloth diapering world, creating room for more unique people. I like it that way. I hope you do too.Kindest regards,
Jennifer Labit, CEO
Owner of Cotton Babies, Inc., creator of bumGenius, Flip and Econobum cloth diapering systems
We don’t just seek to grow, we look to give. Come see how you have helped us reach someone in need.
Cotton Babies has teamed with Sheltering Wings’ orphanage in Burkina Faso, West Africa since 2006 by providing formula and cloth diapers to feed and diaper the babies in their care.
We love being involved in the community that we live in, and look to provide in practical ways (usually diapers) to families in need.
Cotton Babies Commitment to Excellence
In 2002, Cotton Babies was founded with $100. We started the company to provide enough income to feed our family. Today, Cotton Babies helps provide the income that puts food on hundreds of tables around the world.
We began manufacturing bumGenius in 2005 at a factory in Colorado. Since we first opened our production facility seven years ago, our assembly lines have never stopped and continue to operate at full capacity, constructing most bumGenius products sold in the United States.
As popularity of bumGenius continues to grow and expand into new markets beyond North America, our products are now distributed in Africa, Australia, Canada, China, India, and the Middle East.
With each product, we carefully control material sources to ensure that it is made with the same exact high-quality materials—regardless of where it is constructed, packaged and distributed.
We’re proud of the way our company has grown and the positive impact we’re having on so many families in different countries.
We consider each and every staff member, distributor, retailer, and customer part of our Cotton Babies team and treat them as part of our family. With the help of worldwide partners, we have sold millions of cloth diapers and helped reduce a massive amount of waste.
Thank you for the part you play in our story. Together, we are making a difference in families, international communities and the environment.
